I chose this song because this song clearly shows the change in identity and self confidence of the person being portrayed. This person is able to take the circumstances around her and change it to make it so that it is a part of who she is. The line "‘Cause I got a couple dents in my fender Got a couple rips in my jeans Try to fit the pieces together...On my own I'm so clumsy But on Your shoulders I can see I'm free to be me" shows that even though you lean on somebody for help it doesn't mean that they are controlling your identity and controlling who you are. This song also shows the audience that when you are teared down that you will only come back stronger because 'whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.'
